Tadalafil is used for treating erectile dysfunction in men (eg, impotence) and other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How is Cialis Taken
Take tadalafil exactly as your doctor prescribes. For most men, the recommended starting tadalafil dose is 10 mg. It should be taken no more than once a day.
Tadalafil Drug Class and Mechanism
Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor and it works by helping the blood flow into the penis to achieve and maintain an erection during sexual stimulation.
Tadalafil Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of tadalafil , take it as soon as you remember. Continue to use it as directed by your doctor.
Storage
Store tadalafil pills at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C).
Tadalafil Warnings/Precautions
Do not use tadalafil if:
- you are allergic to any ingredient in tadalafil;
- you have been told by your health care provider not to participate in sexual activity because of certain heart or health problems;
- you are taking or using any type of nitroglycerin (eg, under the tongue, capsule, tablet, spray, patch, ointment, paste) or other nitrates (eg, isosorbide), or recreational drugs ("poppers") containing amyl or butyl nitrate.
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
Tadalafil Possible Side Effects
The most common side effects with tadalafil pills are headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. These side effects usually go away after a few hours.
Patients who get back pain and muscle aches usually get it 12 to 24 hours after taking tadalafil. Back pain and muscle aches usually go away by themselves within 48 hours. Call your doctor if you get a side effect that bothers you or one that will not go away.

Sexual stimulation is required for tadalafil to work. You will not get an erection just by taking tadalafil pills without sexual stimulation.
